Moving Motivators

10 intrinsic motivators, scientifically grounded, played as a card game. CHAMPFROGS: what really drives you?

What are Moving Motivators?

Moving Motivators is an exercise from Management 3.0, built on the motivation research of Daniel Pink, Steven Reiss, and Edward Deci. Jurgen Appelo distilled from it 10 universal motivators and encoded them as an acronym: CHAMPFROGS.

The idea: every person is driven by a unique mix of these 10 motivators. Once you know which motivators matter most to you (or to your team), you can make better decisions — about jobs, projects, changes.

How it works: sort the 10 motivators by importance (left = unimportant, right = very important). Then, for an upcoming change, rate whether each motivator will be affected positively or negatively.
